Eric Westover

Date of Amputation/Cause: May 13, 2004 (No, it wasn’t
a Friday J), Right Below Elbow. My amputation was the result of massive nerve
and tendon damage, multiple surgeries (5), and the onset of Reflex Sympathetic
Dystrophy (aka CRPS II) to my Right hand and wrist.
Prosthesis: Body powered with a carbon fiber socket and
Ossur liner with a locking pin system. I use a figure 9 harness, black, of
course, and a quick release clip for easy adjustment. For TD’s, I have a #5
Hosmer, #7 Hosmer, and the TRS Gripper 3 w /stealth(black) fingers. I’m also

Amp Events Attended: The One Arm Dove Hunt 2004 & 2005.
Other Information: I’m 35 years old. Married, with no kids, except my
three cats. I’m a doting uncle of three nephews, Arthur 6, Jesse 9, and Tanner
11.I’m an avid golfer, hockey player/goalie coach, fisherman, and soon to be
hunter. I’m a drummer, and sing lead vocals in The Rebel Heart Band. I’m
also writing a column for InMotion magazine starting in January 2005, dedicated
to upper extremity amputees. I’m also a member of Northstar Amputee Support
and Outreach, an amputee group dedicated to raising public awareness about
amputees and the issues surrounding them, and supporting and mentoring to new
amputees here in Minnesota.
